This is a problem that a lot of users are facing today, which is preventing them from using the CarPlay functionality in their vehicles.
In this article, we will be looking at this problem and giving you the solution for it so you can fix it yourself.
Check if CarPlay is Turned On on Your iPhone
Check that CarPlay is enabled on your iPhone. It’s likely that this will be the last time that you use the CarPlay feature and you haven’t even realized that you were turning it off accidentally.
Open the Settings app on your iPhone. Tap General, then CarPlay. If it’s paired correctly, it will tell you what cars are paired to your device. Check if your car is paired with the right system or you have it disabled. Then, tap the car icon that appears.
CarPlay will connect to all compatible devices. If that happens, tap the icon that looks like a car in the app and then tap the check box to enable CarPlay.
If not, press and hold the voice control button on your car’s steering wheel to start setup and pair your car with your phone.
Ensure that everything has been set up correctly with the car and that all information is visible in Real Time. Click the arrow that says “Back” once and then select Display Time.
If you’ve got Screen Time turned on, open the Settings app and choose Manage Apps. Then, select Content & Privacy Restrictions. Then click Allowed Apps, and then toggle CarPlay on by clicking the little button on the far right.
Restart the Phone
Now, if you’ve made sure all basic settings are configured correctly, try restarting your iPhone if CarPlay is still not working.
This can remove corrupted data, crashed apps, and other digital debris. It only takes a few minutes and can solve many unusual problems.

In rare cases, the CarPlay connection may be corrupted, so you can tell CarPlay to forget the car and reconnect from scratch.
Launch the Settings app and tap General. Tap CarPlay. Tap your car, then tap Forget This Car. Set up the car again.
Make sure you’re connected via USB, then you can press and hold the voice command button on your steering wheel to start the setup process.
Double Check Your USB
There are very few cars that offer CarPlay functionality that allows you to take your phone everywhere you go, but very few have it, and if it does, it will require you to use a Lightning cable.
It’s possible that a car might not allow wireless CarPlay, but it is likely that you will need to connect a USB cable to get the most out of it. So make sure that you have a good USB cable. If the cable is damaged, remove it and try again.
It could be that the car’s USB port is very particular, so if that is the case, just try plugging the cable in to a different USB port and try using it.
Now, make absolutely certain that the USB cable that you use is in perfect condition. If you find any signs that the cable may be damaged, you may be able to swap the cable and try it a second time.
