Fix the Antenna

If you hear music that doesn’t seem to be playing as it should while you’ve been watching a morning talk show or an afternoon music mix, try switching to a different station or adding an AUX-in jack to the radio.

If you hear loud and clearly, it’s possible that something is blocking your radio from getting a signal. There could also be dipped antennas (which are more prevalent in old cars, but new cars are also susceptible to them) or a problem with the radio tuner.

Replace the Speaker

When sound from an audio system suddenly becomes quiet, muffled, or noticeably degraded, the most common cause is the physical components of the audio system, usually the speakers.

If your speakers fail, we recommend replacing them or upgrading to a new audio system.

Change the Fuse

If your radio completely shuts down and never comes back on again, it could be many different things. You may have a faulty fuse, but you can easily replace it by switching the fuse to a different position.

If that works, your system is back to normal! If you can change the fuse and it stops happening then, that’ll be nice. But if the problem persists after doing that, you will need to have the Kia dealer send a professional to look at it.

But a different fuse might not work every time you try to change it. It may be that the wiring in your car is defective, and this problem will need to be fixed by a trained professional.

Restart the Radio

It can be especially confusing when your entire audio system stops working and then starts working again a few minutes later. If this happens, it may be due to a faulty amplifier.

Overheating the amplifier can damage the vehicle. So it will automatically turn off if it gets too hot. When it cools down enough, it turns on again, and when it gets hot, it turns off again. If this continues, you may need a new amplifier.
