The 2021 530e is powered by a turbocharged 181hp I-4 engine, and a 107hp electric motor that deliver power using an eight-speed automatic transmission. It also has XtraBoost, which electrically adds 40 more horsepower on demand, for 10 seconds, when you rev the 530e in Sport mode.
The maximum power provided by the hybrid system is increased to 288hp, with 310lb-ft of maximum torque. The company estimates a 5.7-second 0-to-60-mph time for the RWD 530e.
