This problem is so common that it has led to several recalls on the 2019 X5. The first NHTSA recall reports the capacitors in the BDC short-circuiting and overheating, which could increase the chance of the 2019 BMW X5 catching fire.

Another recall, claimed that the backup camera didn’t work properly in many X5 models, going haywire when an object was detected. This is a necessary driving aid today, and most people aren’t capable of reversing without it.

The iDrive 7 has malfunctioned for the majority of 2019 X5s. BMW has placed the blame on Apple for poorly integrating the Apple CarPlay feature.

Another owner stated that they received warning labels regarding the X5’s air bags, located on the car’s sun visors. These have been stated to be missing or incorrect, and the problems were solved by replacing the visors.

While the 2019 BMW X5 was only for the deep pocketed, some information from the recalled vehicles shows that BMW saved all the money that they could on equipment.

A review stated that the 2019 X5 was full of plastic parts, with a radiator that is vulnerable to heat. It also mentioned the air conditioning being terrible, and not being able to cool even the smallest areas.

A recall also talks about how poor the seat belts are. It stated that there was an incorrect tightening of the attachment bolts used for the driver’s seat and seat belt. This problem in a 2019 X5 or any other car can be injurious or even fatal.

Wheels

Even the wheels on the 2019 X5 have not been safe from problems. A recall mentioned that the bolts on the wheel were not tightened properly and were at the risk of getting loose while driving. There is no room for error here as the wheel can come off if they loosen too much, and cause a car crash.

The 2019 BMW X5 has also received slack from customers because of run-flat tires. The consumers aren’t happy with the car being without a proper spare tire. It looks as if there isn’t a place for the customers to even place their spare tire and the run-flat tires fail continuously.

A customer talked about the problem with having a spare to match the non-run flat tires. They also complained about the spare tire not being able to fit in the spare-tire space, due to the small cargo-space in relativity.

Miscellaneous

While this X5 problem has not had a recall, it has affected many vehicles. A user reported a loud clicking noise whenever on making a right turn along with a plethora of other electrical problems such as the engine being disabled because it couldn’t detect the car’s key being in it.

These issues happened at around 1,000 miles. Even the loans given by BMW have had the problems mentioned above, but the owner had to drive them because the original was taking too long to be fixed.

There were issues reported with the high-pressure fuel pump, saying that it may not be properly attached to the engine. This reportedly resulted in it breaking at its mounting flange, and the fuel pumps had to be replaced.
