What is the Kia Seltos UVO System?
UVO is short for Voice and is developed from Microsoft’s Windows Embedded Automotive software. It allows drivers to speak to their cars using their smartphones and control their music and other functions. UVO enables drivers to make phone calls, play music, and even navigate the internet using their smartphones by using a simple voice command.
Kia cars with older UVO eServices are able to connect a smartphone to the cars USB port to get a subscription to a number of popular eServices. UVO Link, available for 2019 and newer Kia vehicles, is a system that combines all the functions of UVO eServices with other Kia car features.
Kia UVO works with vehicles that have a touchscreen display of 7 or 8 inches. The display also has buttons for easy control of the system while you are driving. When you connect your smartphone to your car, you get a variety of benefits and features, including hands-free capability. Integrating your smartphone into the system allows you to access your favorite music and apps, use Google maps, and answer your phone while driving – all without having to lift a finger.
How to Fix Kia Seltos UVO Not Working
Restart or reboot your device
Sometimes apps have issues loading apps temporarily. You can solve this by holding down the Power button for 5 seconds. Try to close the app that is causing you to experience this. If it still refuses to close, force it to quit. Once you reopen it, it might work normally.
Try to force restart your Android phone by pressing the home and power buttons simultaneously. Hold down Home and Power buttons simultaneously for up to 10 seconds. Now release the buttons and wait till the screen turns off. Then try to open the app again and see if it’s fixed. If none of the above steps work, just wait till the battery of your mobile phone is almost empty and then it will automatically shut off.
Reset the Bluetooth
If the app is still not working, try resetting the Bluetooth on your phone. This will erase all the connections and settings in your phone. Once you reset it, you can try installing the app again.
Keep in mind that the core of the connectivity issues may also stem from your car rather than your phone. This means that the car may not be able to detect your phone at all.
Reactivate the UVO link
It is necessary for you to start using the UVO after you install it in your car. If you have a smartphone, you will need the Kia Access app on your smartphone to enable the link.
The process is simple. Just open the UVO and select your smartphone. If you want to change certain settings, press the Mod or Information buttons on your UVO. Find the tab for Activating UVO eServices from the Setup menu, and click on it. Turn on Bluetooth on your smartphone to allow it to talk with your smartphone.
