In 1985, Yugo imported the GV model. The car was poorly designed and assembled in Soviet-bloc Yugoslavia with substandard practices and materials that led to components of the vehicle just falling off or breaking. It listed features like a carpeted upholstery which wasn’t even worth advertising at a time when having any form of floor covering made it seem luxurious for many drivers who might otherwise have only dirt roads beneath their feet on long journeys through rural areas without paved streets.
